Three years are passed since Nicolino and me took a trip to Tanzania along with a group of guys from Compassion Holland. Those days were someway fixed in color pictures that become the core of the “TanzanEyes” project.
Now, those very same people, children, experiences and obviously pictures are still floating in my mind. And as memories and details fade away, I can watch them with new eyes.
There is no more a well defined description of places and characteristics of those places. And there is no more any real name, any real geographical identity.
So, I imagine a new, flattened and someway unreal place, a village if you like, where all the characters become a memory, an individual belonging to that specific time and place in this “enlarged” village now brought to your eyes by these revisited pictures. Nothing more, nothing less. My memories that play with the time, the colors and the sensations. So, let me take the liberty to use a Polaroid format and a specific color cast to collect them all.
Since they now belong to a different place.
